At least ten people have died in a shooting at a school in western Canada, police reported. The presumed shooter was also found dead with what appears to be a self-inflicted injury. All students and staff remaining at the center were safely evacuated. Another person died while being transported to a hospital. Authorities also stated that about 25 people are being treated for injuries at the local medical center, and two others have been airlifted with extremely severe injuries. They added that police officers are searching homes and properties in the town, located about 1,150 kilometers northeast of Vancouver, to check for more victims and ruled out other suspects. The presumed perpetrator of the massacre was found dead inside the school from self-inflicted wounds. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police explained in a statement that around 13:20 local time (20:20 GMT), they began receiving reports of an active shooter at the high school in Tumbler Ridge. As part of the initial response to the active shooting, police entered the school to locate the threat. During the search, officers found several victims. Six of the dead were found inside the school, while two other bodies were found in a residence.
